Biography

Nancy Jelagat Biwott is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics Education at University of Eldoret. She holds a Master of Philosophy in Mathematics Education from Moi University and a Bachelor of Education from Egerton University.

Nancy is an experienced Mathematics educator and researcher with a strong commitment to promoting quality education.  She has extensive teaching experience across Kenya and Tanzania and currently serves as a Tutorial Fellow in Mathematics Education at Alupe University. She is actively involved in academic research, teacher training in Competency Based Education Curriculum, and mentorship, while also contributing to co-curricular activities including sports (Football Kenya Federation affiliated Referee)  and guidance and counselling

Research Interests:

My research interests focus on Mathematics Education, particularly improving mathematics teaching and learning at primary and secondary school levels through Learner-Centered approaches, Competency-Based Education Curriculum implementation, and the use of technology in instruction. My training at Moi University and Egerton University, together with participation in Strengthening of Mathematics and Science Education (SMASE) programs, supports my goal of contributing to evidence-based practices that enhance mathematics education in Kenya
