AUSO 2026/27 ELECTIONS KICKS OFF

The Alupe University student fraternity is lining up to pick their preferred Student-Leadership for the 2026/2027 academic year

This is a two-day electioneering process where; the first day is meant to elect Delegates for the Four Schools. The elected Delegates will then converge on 11th March, to elect the Council (the seven members), that will collectively form the Alupe University Student Organization (AUSO) congress.

Dr. Ongang’a Peter, the Elections Commission Chairperson in an interview reported that today’s elections have been so far smooth and without any hitches.  Other Commissioners and officials overseeing the elections include: Dr. Korkoren Ken, Ms. Peruce Atingo, Ms. Ngugi Margaret, Ms. Chepkoech Faith., Mr. Mutuma Brian. Independent Observers include; Ms. Anne Ochayo and Mr. Ngota Ephraim, and about 35 student-agents representing various candidates.

 The University has put in place adequate security measures to ensure secure, uninterrupted and trustworthy electioneering process by availing a contingent of 10-security personnel under the supervision of Mr Owaret Steve_ the University Security Officer.

Voting is expected to end at 1500hrs with counting following immediately after closing the vote casting ques.  It is expected that tallying outcomes shall be announced at around 2000hrs today.
