Alupe University has received a significant boost to its water infrastructure following a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by CFAO Company, the firm that supplied the University’s Mercedes-Benz bus in late January 2026.
In a gesture that underscores its commitment to community development and sustainable partnerships, CFAO donated a 10,000-litre water storage tank to the University. The tank was officially received by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Barasa, who lauded CFAO for its thoughtful and impactful contribution to the University’s operations and welfare.
Speaking during the handover, Prof. Barasa expressed appreciation for the company’s continued support, noting that the donation comes at a critical time when institutions are increasingly prioritizing sustainable water management solutions.
“We are deeply grateful to CFAO for this generous donation. This water tank will go a long way in enhancing our water storage capacity, ensuring a more reliable water supply for our students, staff, and essential services. This contribution reflects a strong partnership that extends beyond business to meaningful community impact,” said Prof. Barasa.
In a show of prompt action and commitment to service delivery, the Vice Chancellor immediately handed over the tank to the Estates Department and directed that it be installed at one of the highest water towers within the University. He further instructed that the tank be operationalized immediately to begin serving the Alupe University community.
The additional water storage capacity is expected to improve water accessibility across the campus, particularly during periods of supply interruptions.
This CSR initiative highlights CFAO’s dedication to not only delivering quality products and services but also to investing in the well-being of institutions and communities they serve. The partnership between Alupe University and CFAO continues to grow from strength to strength, setting a strong example of how corporate entities and academic institutions can collaborate for mutual and societal benefit.
Alupe University remains committed to fostering strategic partnerships that enhance its infrastructure, support its academic mission, and improve the overall campus experience for its stakeholders.
