Alupe University to Host 2026 Annual KLISC Annual International AGM

Alupe University has met the criterion for hosting the international workshop that will bring together librarians and other stakeholders in the library sector from all over. The event that is currently being overseen by the Kenya Library and Information Services Consortium (KLISC) shall be held in 2026 at Alupe University.

The pre-workshop inspection of Alupe University’s preparedness for the prestigious event was conducted by the KLISC Governing Board Secretary Dr. Agava S. Litsalia and the Programs Coordinator, Prof. Paul Gichohi. The duo toured the facilities around the university and later indicated their satisfaction by the Alupe University’s capabilities to hold such a mega workshop that will also form the Consortium’s annual general meeting (AGM).

The team was received by University’s Librarian Mr. Michael S. Wanyonyi, who also took them round key facilities that would be used in the much-awaited annual workshop. The Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Administration, Finance and Development Prof Mahero Toboso thanked the KLISC Board for considering to host the event at Alupe University. On behalf of the Vice Chancellor, prof Toboso thanked the delegation for coming to AU and expressed the university’s readiness and unwavering support towards the success of the upcoming International Workshop. The delegation reported to be looking forward to the materialization of the workshop in 2026.
