Biography

Prof.  Caroline Wakoli holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Counseling Psychology and is currently the Chair of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in the School of Education and Social Sciences. As a lecturer in this Department, she teaches various courses in the area of counseling psychology. She is an academic leader for Bachelor of Arts, Community Development Programme, Secretary to  the Alupe University Institutional Scientific Ethics Review Committee ( ISERC),  member of Alupe University Library Advisory Committee,  member of  Disposal Committee , member of the Research Committee in the School of Education and Social Sciences, member of National and Integration Committee and Coordinator of the Student’s’ Advisory Groups. She chairs the Complaints and Complements Handling Committee. She is a member of The Busia County Menstrual Hygiene Management Steering Committee. She is also an accredited Counselor affiliated to KCPA ( Kenya Counselors Professional Association), IMLU (International Medico- Legal Unit), Shield for Justice and Clarion International. She has worked with torture survivors in. Mt. Elgon, Kodiaga G.K Prison, Eldoret G.K Prison, Shimo la Tewa Prison and Borstal Institute Shikuza. Dr. Wakoli is the Vice Chair of the Board of Management of Kibabii Diploma Teachers’ College. She  taught at secondary school level for  thirty three years (33) in the following schools: Bishop Sulumeti Girls’ High School (1985- 1989), St. Peters’ Boys’ High School (1989- 1997) and Cardinal Otunga Girls’ High School (1997- 2017. It is in the last station that she rose to the position of Senior Principal Graduate Teacher 1 and Senior Head Department ( Guidance and Counseling. In 2009, Dr. Wakoli won the award of ‘Teacher of the Year in Bungoma District. She taught as part- time  lecturer at Kisii University, Catholic University of Eastern Africa and Kibabii University (2011- 2017)

  • Prof. Wakoli graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Counseling Psychology in2016 at Kabarak University, Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling in 2007 at Kenyatta University and Bachelor of Education Degree in 1985 at the University of Nairobi. My Doctoral Thesis Title is “Relationship Between Selected Psycho- Social Factors And Students’ Aggressive Behaviour In Public Secondary Schools In Bungoma County, Kenya”
