Alupe University today conducted a tree planting exercise within the university grounds as part of efforts to support the national environmental conservation agenda and contribute towards the country’s goal of increasing forest cover.

The activity brought together university management, staffs and student leaders who planted various indigenous and fruit tree seedlings across selected areas of the institution. The exercise aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, restoring degraded spaces, and creating awareness on the importance of conserving nature.

The institution noted that the exercise aligns with the government’s nationwide campaign championed by HE President Dr. William Ruto to plant billions of trees over the coming years in an effort to restore Kenya’s forest cover and heal the environment from the effects of deforestation and climate change.
