Alupe University has marked a significant institutional milestone with the acquisition of a brand new 68-seater Mercedes-Benz bus (Model 1730), reinforcing the University’s commitment to improving mobility, visibility, and service delivery. The bus was officially received on the morning of 30th January 2026 by the University Council, led by the Chairperson Dr. Virginia Kimani, alongside Council Members and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Barasa.

The acquisition is anchored in the Alupe University Strategic Plan (2024–2028), which prioritizes strengthening institutional infrastructure to meet growing operational needs while enhancing the University’s brand presence nationally. The new bus is expected to address transportation requirements for academic, administrative, curricular, and co-curricular activities, thereby supporting students and staff in the effective execution of University programmes.

Branded in Alupe University’s official colours with gold accents, the bus features a modern, well-appointed interior designed for comfort, safety, and reliability. Key amenities include charging ports for electronic devices and a high-quality overhead sound system, ensuring a comfortable travel experience for passengers. The bus has already generated positive excitement across the University fraternity and neighboring community.

Student leadership welcomed the development, with the Alupe University Students’ Organisation (AUSO) Secretary General, Mr. Ronny Korir, commending University Management for the timely investment. He noted that the new bus will play a critical role as students prepare to participate in numerous curricular and co-curricular engagements across the country.
