A delegation from the University of Kenya and Hikvision visited the university

On January 12, a delegation of Kenyan universities together with representatives from Hikvision visited our university. Vice President Zhang Jincheng, officials from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and the School of Computer Science and Technology attended the meeting, which was chaired by Shen Yulong, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.
Vice President Zhang Jincheng first extended a warm welcome to the Kenyan delegation. Ms. Beatrice Nelima Muganda, Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Education of Kenya, expressed her sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality of Xidian University and introduced the general situation of Kenya. Representatives of Kenyan university presidents and relevant officials from the International Education College of Xidian University also introduced the basic profiles of their respective institutions. Guo Yong, President of Hikvision Africa Business Division, introduced Hikvision’s current overseas布局 and cooperation with Kenya, and expressed a strong willingness to further develop trilateral cooperation with Xidian University and Kenyan partners.
Vice President Zhang noted that Kenya is one of the fastest-developing countries in Africa, with rapid growth in higher education and strong development potential in multiple disciplines. He emphasized that Hikvision and Xidian University have maintained a long-term cooperative relationship, and that this exchange further deepened mutual understanding among the three parties. He expressed hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to jointly promote university–enterprise collaboration, achieve precise alignment in cultivating high-level international students from Kenya, pragmatically advance high-quality international education cooperation, and contribute a “Xidian Solution” to the global expansion of outstanding engineer education.
During the meeting, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on smart campus construction, the “AI + Education” concept, faculty academic exchanges, joint student training programs, and international student education. Substantial cooperation intentions were reached on initiatives such as Kenyan university faculty training programs in China, joint Xidian–Hikvision university–enterprise talent cultivation, and the overseas development of the School of Outstanding Engineers.
During the visit, the Kenyan delegation and Hikvision representatives toured the university’s AI + Education Center and smart classrooms.
The Kenyan higher education delegation conducted a nine-day visit and exchange program in China. The delegation included the Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Education of Kenya, presidents of Alupe University, Embu University, Karatina University, Kirinyaga University, Moi Force Academy, Tharaka University, principals of Good Testimony Internal School, and the CEO of Threecs Business Solutions Ltd, totaling 14 members.
