SBEHRD Successfully Inducts Staff on Performance Contracting, & Administrative Issues

The Dean of the School of Business, Economics & Human Resource Development (SBEHRD), Prof (CPA) Arnety Makokha lead the academic and non-teaching staff on various agenda, including laying a roadmap for the School. The SBEHRD is one of the vibrant schools in Alupe University as seen from the continued tangible outputs it has since showcased including the development of three new programmes, including Masters in Strategic Communication that is rolling out in October, 2025. 

The School is made up of the Directorate of TVET,  three Departments that are strategically positioned according to academic and professional specialization, as seen in the programmes offered. The departments are; Management Science Development & Communication (MDC), Marketing Hospitality & Human Resource (MHHR), and Finance Accounting Procurement & Economics (FAPE).

Research and Publications

Dr CPA Peninah Tanui whilst underscoring on the weighty aspect about research and publications, brought to the attention of the staff, especially the new members that the university runs a yearly programme where it funds award wining research proposals. Dr Tanui encouraged SBERD members to be aggressive on such calls while embracing teamwork, and inter-disciplinary researches. “Alupe University through its training partner on grant proposals development, shall purpose to orient the new staff on research and how to write wining grant proposals”, she said.

In her address to the staff, the Dean emphasized on the importance of following the laid out communication protocol.  In addition to observing self-discipline, punctuality, and time management, the staff have been urged to observe the School’s guiding philosophies such as moto, vision and core values. “SBEHRD should be the bench mark for excellence in addition to our strategic position in the university where we are centered on management science as our niche,” said the dean. In order to ensure teamwork towards achieving growth, the Dean asked the staff to bring on their ideas, innovations and research concepts for consideration through their respective CODs.
